This collection has started since the Corona virus pandemic, when all the classes and galleries were closed and people stayed in the safest possible place, their homes, to save their lives. This shelter gave me the opportunity to see around me better and not simply pass the most permanent elements of life, my plants. I began the work by drawing on thin papers in the darkness of night, like the fear of death was shown itself in faint shadows; however, the smallest light rays can be seen better in the darkness. Little by little, these light rays made a new meaning in the intertwined stems and leaves, “hope”.
I bravely started to paint on some big canvases and immersed myself in an inner flow, a deeper perception of my presence in the world.
I feel human needs hope even in the darkest nights.
There will be time when you have to close the doors, turn all the lights off, sit in silence and close your eyes.
Embrace the darkness, away from all the hustle and bustle of the world, let go of yourself floating in nothing…Until time stands still and space gets lost.
That’s where you can open your eyes again and see what has been forgotten.
Sima Bagherzadeh has simply and directly dealt with this subject in her latest collection; The moment of opening your eyes in the dark, the touch of the twisting plant stem for life, rising with the joy of reaching the sky, and the love story of the leaves and light … And this is a story of life …
